Holmesglen students success at Cannes Film Festival
Cannes International Film Festival is held annually in May at the costal town of Cannes, South France. Celebrities, directors, actors and tourists come from all over the world for the 12 days of films and festivities.
Holmesglen’s student Chris and Robert Smellin have impressed Cannes International Film Festival judges, earning themselves a place among the best international short film entries from across the globe.
At 21 years of age, the Bachelor of Screen Production students have together maturely crafted a sad yet meaningful tale. The Girl in the Red Dress is described by the pair as ‘an urban psychological drama revolving around a family torn apart by the unwelcome relationship be- tween father and daughter.’
Brothers Chris and Robert Smellin also attributes the successful transition of their work from the page to the screen, to the ongoing help and support Holmesglen has provided.
